In this episode we speak with Gonçalo Brito, a freelance illustrator and animator who focuses on visual science communication and storytelling.

Goncalo is originally from Lisbon, and he has lived in Stockholm for the last decade, where he got his PhD in medical science.

During our conversation, we will explore Gonçalo’s journey from academia to graphic design and animation and we will learn some key design concepts for scientific illustration.

On this episode, we speak with Aoife Van Linden Tol, a London based artist, working with explosives fusing her interests in nature, cosmology, chemistry and physics. Aoife creates abstract works which often examine concepts of time, density and matter as well as deep human emotions and motivations.

Aoife’s told us about the European Space Agency, her tips on how to create effective Science and Art collaborations, and why there’s probably no point in discussing the differences between art and science.
