In our research group, you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with top researchers in the borderland between psychology and neuroscience to jointly try to understand how the human brain processes sensory impressions. We offer an engaging and international research environment where you get an opportunity to contribute to high-quality research at an international top level.
We are looking for a person who can support the research group leader in the daily administrative work as well as be helpful to the group's various research projects when it comes to initiating and carrying out our experiments. The sucessful candidate will have three main tasks of equal importance; 1) be responsible for the functioning of our research laboratories, 2) be responsible for, and lead, the group's work with our research documentation, 3) be helpful to the various research projects in setting up experiments and testing trial participants if necessary. The group runs several projects with varying technology dependencies and problems. This means that you will have a great variety in the methods you will learn to master and you will experience a variety in your exact work tasks. We have a wide range of international collaborations and the research group is international with members from several different countries.
The applicant must hold a master's degree in an academic discipline relevant to the position (e.g. psychology or medicine). The sucessful candidate must have experience in neuroscience research where previous experience of testing participants in psychological experiments is highly meritorious. It is also very advantageous to have training in chemical handling and to have previous experience with any of the following: research documentation, archiving within a government agency, writing ethical applications, or collecting brain imaging data (e.g. fMRI & EEG).
It is important for the position that you are meticulous in your work, like to organize information and do not find it difficult to inform/correct the group's members if they do not follow given regulations. Accustomed to working goal-oriented and with straight and clear communication are requirements for this position. Good collaboration skills and experience in interdisciplinary collaboration as well as having experience working towards common goals is a requirement.
The daily communication is largely done using English but much of the administrative work is in Swedish. Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both written and spoken, is therefore of great importance.
