Utlysning av forskar-ST-medel
|
|
Forskar-ST kan sökas av doktorander vid KI som har en anställning som ST-läkare hos vårdenhet som utför vård åt Region Stockholm enligt vårdavtal. Behörig att söka är doktorander som vid ansökningstillfället ännu inte genomfört sin halvtidskontroll samt har genomfört högst 42 godkända ST-månader.

Dags att söka till KI:s och Region Stockholms kliniska forskarskolor med start hösten 2022
|
|
Forskarskolorna vänder sig till doktorander som är kliniskt verksamma inom Region Stockholm och omfattar sammanlagt 16 veckors heltidsstudier, 24 hp. Kurserna är uppdelade i fyra block om fyra veckor och pågår under två år. Ansök senast 8 mars 2022.

Utvärderingen av ALF-systemet
|
|
Under året kommer två stora utvärderingar av den kliniska forskningen genomföras. Dels utvärderar Vetenskapsrådet (VR) den kliniska forskningen (ALF-utvärderingen), dels utvärderar Socialstyrelsen universitetssjukvården (USV-utvärderingen).
Utfallet av ALF-utvärderingen kommer att styra hur mycket statliga pengar Stockholm och de andra regionerna får till klinisk forskning de närmaste fyra åren. En viktig del av utvärderingen är en enkät som skickas till alla kliniska forskare och kliniska doktorander. För att ge en så rättvisande bild som möjligt är det viktigt att så många som möjligt besvarar enkäten. Med anledning av ALF-utvärderingen bjuder prorektor vid KI Anders Gustafsson och forsknings- och innovationsdirektör vid Region Stockholm Clara Hellner in till ett regionalt dialogmöte den 11 februari för att diskutera den kliniska forskningens förutsättningar.

Kurser i svenska under vårterminen 2022
|
|
Alla KI-doktorander erbjuds att utan kostnad gå en kurs i svenska språket arrangerad av Folkuniversitetet. Övriga deltagare betalar enligt ramavtalet. Nya kurser på nivåerna A1, A2 och B1 startar fr.o.m. den 24 januari. Tid kl. 17.30 – 19.00 eller 19.15 – 20.45, en gång i veckan i 10 veckor. Mer information om kurser i svenska

Precisionsmedicin – ett paradigmskifte inom sjukvården och den medicinska forskningen
|
|
Precisionsmedicin kan möjliggöra säkrare diagnostik, effektivare behandlingar, ge färre vårdskador och ökad överlevnad baserat på den enskilde patientens unika förutsättningar, genetiska profil och specifika biomarkörer. Precisionsmedicinen kräver att sjukvård och forskning hittar nya sätt att växelverka.

Hjälp oss att förbättra våra IT-system inom utbildningsområdet

Vi söker dig som har ett intresse av digitalisering och ser att de IT-system vi använder inom utbildningen på KI har potential att förbättras. I ett par kommande workshops samlar vi representanter från olika delar av KI för att hjälpa oss att förstå de viktigaste behoven och göra rätt prioriteringar. Bli medlem i din studentkår Medicinska Föreningen (MF) och Doktorandsektionen (DSA)! MF är det största studentkåren på KI och är ansvarig för att organisera evenemang och aktiviteter för alla studenter, föra dialog med KI:s ledning samt stödja och välja studentrepresentanter. DSA är den största sektionen i MF och har ansvaret för alla doktorander. DSA:s styrelse har sin egen budget och organiserar workshops, seminarier, evenemang och många andra aktiviteter. Dessutom ansvarar DSA för att välja och stödja doktorandrepresentanter i vissa befattningar och bidra till doktorandernas välbefinnande.

Alla doktorander vid KI ska ha en mentor, men vi vet alla att det är särskilt svårt att knyta nya kontakter under en pandemi.
Därför har DSA i samarbete med KI:s karriärservice skapat en virtuell mötesplats där du kan hitta en lämplig mentor inom eller utanför akademin som kan ge dig råd för alla frågor du kan ha.
Din mentor kommer att vara med dig varje steg på vägen medan du utforskar dina tankar och ambitioner. Partnerskapen leds av studenten; så utnyttja möjligheten och be om allt stöd du behöver.

Doktorandnytt skickas ut ungefär var femte vecka från Fakultetskansliet på Karolinska Institutet.

Primary target groups for Doctoral student news are doctoral students as well as the departmental directors for doctoral studies and administrative officers for doctoral education. These groups receive the letter automatically. Other interested groups (for example doctoral supervisors) can subscribe to the newsletter at the staff portal.

Spring call for research internships ("forskar-AT")

Call for research residency programme ("forskar-ST-medel")
|
|
”Forskar-ST” is a programme for financing research during the residency (in Swedish ST-utbildning). To apply you have to be a doctoral student at KI (not yet performed half-time review when you apply) as well as a physician performing residency within Region Stockholm (performed maximally 42 months of your residency).
Deadline for applications: 16 March 2022 at 4 p.m.

Time to apply to KI’s and Region Stockholm’s clinical research schools, starting autumn 2022
|

The research schools are for doctoral students clinically active in Region Stockholm and comprise a total of 16 weeks’ full-time study (24 HE credits). The courses are divided into four four-week blocks over two years. Deadline for applications: 8 March 2022.

Swedish language courses spring semester 2022
|

Doctoral students at KI are offered a course in Swedish free of charge arranged by Folkuniversitetet. Other staff members pay according to the framework agreement. The spring semester begins on January 24 with multiple start dates. Time 17.30 – 19.00 or 19.15 – 20.45 once a week for 10 weeks. Levels A1, A2 and B1. Read more at the staff portal.

Precision medicine – a paradigm shift in healthcare and medical research

Precision medicine can enable safer diagnostics, more efficient treatments, reduce healthcare injuries and increase survival based on the individual patient's unique conditions, genetic profile and specific biomarkers. Precision medicine requires healthcare and research to find new ways of interacting.

In two upcoming workshops, we gather representatives from different parts of KI to help us understand the most important needs and make the right priorities. As of 1 January 2022 there are four new agreements with prepaid publishing fees. The publishers are PLOS, Nature, Company of Biologists and Microbiology Society.

Become a DSA Board Member!

Come join us in your student union, Medicinska Föreningen (MF), and in your section, the Doctoral Students' Association (DSA)! MF is the biggest student union at KI and it's responsible to organize events and activities for all students, conducting a dialogue with the KI leadership and supporting and electing students representatives. DSA is the biggest section in MF and has the responsibility for all the doctoral students. The DSA board has its own budget and organizes workshops, seminars, events and many other activities. Moreover, it is responsible for electing and supporting doctoral students representatives in some positions and in different ways contribute to the wellbeing of the doctoral students' community.

Doctoral Students! Find your Mentor in DSA's New Platform

All doctoral students at KI shall have a mentor, but we all know how hard it was to establish new connections, especially during pandemics.
Therefore, the DSA in collaboration with KI career service has created a virtual meeting place for you to find a suitable mentor within or outside of academia willing to give you advice for any question you might have.
Your mentor will be with you every step of the way as you explore your thoughts and aspirations. The partnerships are led by the mentee; so make the most of this experience and ask for any support you may need.
