Dags att söka forskarutbildningskurser
|
|
Kurskatalogen för HT20 är öppen för ansökan fram till 15 maj. Tänk på att uppdatera din profil om någon förändring har skett sedan du senast sökte kurser.
Viktig information för dig som ska söka forskarutbildningskurser:
Vi har inför antagningsperioden för HT20-kurskatalogen beslutat att stänga av den automatiska mejlaviseringen från KIWAS (kurskatalogen) i samband med antagning, för att undvika överbelastning av systemet. Mejlbekräftelsen vid inskickad ansökan kommer dock att kvarstå.
För dig som sökande innebär detta:
| 1. | Ansökan görs via kurskatalogen (KIWAS). Bekräftelse på mottagen ansökan skickas från en noreply-adress. Vi uppmanar alla sökande att även kontrollera under Mina kurser att ansökan har registrerats. | | 2. | Antagningsbeskedet kommer via e-post från varje enskild kursgivare med handledarintyget som bilaga (kontrollera din mapp för skräppost). | | 3. | Du svarar på ett antagningsbesked, liksom tidigare, både via kurskatalogen (KIWAS – Mina kurser) och genom att returnera en skannad kopia av det signerade handledarintyget senast angivet sista svarsdatum. Om det inte är möjligt att signera handledarintyget p.g.a. rådande COVID-19-pandemi, lös detta på ett pragmatiskt sätt, t.ex. genom att bilägga ett bekräftande mejl från handledaren.

Nytt om det digitala systemet för individuella studieplaner
|
|
Implementeringen av det nya digitala systemet för individuella studieplaner, ISP-systemet, fortgår på de fyra pilotinstitutionerna. Utvärderingen av piloten presenteras för KI:s studierektorer och administratörer för forskarutbildning den 28 april. Den nya versionen av ISP-systemet (”ISP2”) som nyligen lanserats har testats och planeras driftsättas den 4 maj.
När implementering av systemet på resterande institutioner ska ske är ännu inte klart, men kommer meddelas till berörda i god tid.

Exit poll: Doktorander på KI är nöjda med sin forskarutbildning

Resultaten från doktorandernas Exit poll för 2019 är nu sammanställda, och 90 procent uppger att de är nöjda med sin forskarutbildning.
– KI:s doktorander är i stor utsträckning nöjda med sin forskarutbildning och de allra flesta skulle rekommendera sin handledare till andra doktorander. Det finns naturligtvis fortfarande aspekter som kan bli bättre, och att arbeta för att stärka universitetets forskarutbildningsmiljöer är ett fortsatt högprioriterat område, säger Robert Harris, vicerektor för forskarutbildning.

KI:s kvalitetssäkringsarbete fick godkänt med förbehåll i UKÄ:s granskning
|
|
KI fick godkänt med förbehåll i den granskning av kvalitetssäkringsarbetet som Universitetskanslersämbetet (UKÄ) genomfört. Förbehållen avser bedömningsområdena styrning och organisation samt jämställdhet. KI kommer nu att initiera åtgärder för att utveckla kvalitetssystemet i den riktning som granskningen pekar ut.

Vill du inspirera ungdomar under evenemanget ForskarFredag i Stockholm den 25 september? På programmet står prova på-aktiviteter, shower, föreläsningar och många andra möjligheter för elever i årskurs 9 och gymnasiet att möta forskare.
Tips: Att delta i ForskarFredag kan vara ett tillfälle att presentera och diskutera forskning och forskningsresultat i dialog med samhälleth stödja andras lärande (se examensmålen för doktorsexamen).

Primary target groups for Doctoral Student News are doctoral students as well as the departmental directors for doctoral studies and administrative officers for doctoral education. These groups receive the letter automatically. Other interested groups (for example doctoral supervisors) can subscribe to the newsletter at the staff portal.

Time to apply for doctoral courses
|
|
The course catalogue for the autumn semester of 2020 is open for application until 15 May. Remember to update your profile if there have been any changes since the last time you applied for courses.
Important information when applying for doctoral courses
We have decided to turn off the automatic e-mail confirmation from KIWAS (the course catalogue) when admitting to courses, starting from admission to the autumn 2020 courses, in order to avoid overloading the system. However, the e-mail confirmation of the submitted application will remain.
For you as an applicant, this means:
| 1. | Application is made via the course catalogue (KIWAS). A confirmation of submitted application is sent from a noreply-address. We urge all applicants to also check under My courses that the application has been registered. | | 2. | The admission email will be sent by email directly from the course provider with the supervisor certificate as an attachment (please check your spam folder). | | 3. | You reply to an admission offer, just like before, both via the course catalogue (KIWAS – My courses) and by returning a scanned copy of the signed supervisor certificate, no later than the specified response date. If signing the supervisor certificate is not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please solve this in a pragmatic way, e.g. by attaching a confirming email from the supervisor.

Latest on digital system for individual study plans
|
|
The implementation of the new digital system for individual study plans (the ISP-system) continues at the four pilot departments. The evaluation of the pilot has been completed and will be presented for the directors of doctoral studies and departmental administrators for doctoral education on 28 April. The new version of the ISP-system ("ISP2") has been tested and is planned to be launched on 4 May.
When the implementation of the system at the remaining departments is to take place has not yet been decided, but will be announced well in advance.

Exit poll: Doctoral students at KI are satisfied with their doctoral education

The results from Exit poll for doctoral students from 2019 have now been compiled and presented in a report. 90 % were satisfied with their doctoral education 2019.
“Doctoral students are largely satisfied with their doctoral education and the majority report that they would recommend their supervisors to prospective doctoral students. There are still aspects that could be improved, as always, and working to strengthen KI’s research training environments and to decrease the vulnerability of individual doctoral students remain high-priorities”, says Robert Harris, Academic vice president for doctoral education at KI.

KI’s quality assurance processes have been “approved with reservations” by UKÄ
|
|
KI’s quality assurance processes have been “approved with reservations” in the evaluation by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ). The reservations concern the assessment areas “Governance and organisation” and “Gender equality”. KI will now be taking steps to develop its quality system along the lines that the assessment has indicated.

Do you want to contribute to hands-on, interactive activities during Researchers’ night in Stockholm on 25 September? Researchers’ night is an opportunity for the general public (primarily students from high school) to meet scientists.
Tips: To participate in ForskarFredag can be an opportunity to present and discuss research and research findings in dialogue with the society in general and support the learning of others (see the outcomes for doctoral education).
