Disputationskommittén välkomnar doktorander som snart ska disputera till ett webbinarium om vad som bör beaktas under disputationsprocessen. Webbinariet äger rum via zoom på onsdag den 27 maj kl. 16.00 – 17.00. Under webbinariet kommer ordförande i Disputationskommittén Mia von Euler att informera om kraven för att disputera, om hur disputationsansökan förbereds och hur man går tillväga för att hitta en lämplig betygsnämnd och opponent.

KIB följer Folkhälsomyndighetens och KI:s rekommendationer om att minimera social kontakt. KIB är tillsvidare obemannat ute i biblioteket, men har meröppet. Du som doktorand eller anställd måste ansöka om att få tillgång till bibliotekslokalerna.

Lär dig grunderna inom AI

Öka din förståelse om artificiell intelligens (AI) med Sveriges första grundkurs på området som ges gratis online.
The Elements of AI är en serie gratis onlinekurser skapade av företaget Reaktor och Helsingfors universitet. Syftet är att uppmuntra en så bred grupp människor som möjligt att lära sig vad AI är, vad som kan (och inte kan) göras med hjälp av AI och hur man börjar skapa AI-metoder. Kursen kombinerar teori med praktiska övningar och kan genomföras i din egen takt. Varje del tar ca 5 – 10 timmar att fullfölja. Observera att kursen inte är poänggivande.

Universitetskanslersämbetet skjuter upp granskning av KI:s forskarutbildning
|
Universitetskanslersämbetet (UKÄ) granskar forskarutbildning på samtliga lärosäten i Sverige, avseende på hur lärosätet ger förutsättningar för och säkerställer att alla doktorander uppnår examensmålen.
Den 8 maj meddelade UKÄ att de planerade utvärderingarna av forskarutbildning inom fysiologi, kirurgi och odontologi skjuts upp på obestämd framtid till följd av Covid-19-pandemin. Utvärderingen av forskarutbildningen i omvårdnad planeras startas våren 2022.

Primary target groups for Doctoral student news are doctoral students as well as the departmental directors for doctoral studies and administrative officers for doctoral education. These groups receive the letter automatically. Other interested groups (for example doctoral supervisors) can subscribe to the newsletter at the staff portal.

Apply to the national research school in general practice

The research school is aimed at doctoral students who are active in clinically oriented research within primary healthcare. The research school is open to all professional groups who have their clinical base in primary healthcare.
Cooperation and networking both nationally and internationally and between different professional groups is an integrated part of the research school. The course leaders in the research school are from The Lancet and the University of Cambridge.

Webinar: How to apply for public defence

The Dissertation Committee at KI welcomes doctoral students who will soondefend their theses to a webinar about the steps towards a successful thesis defence. The webinar takes place on Wednesday 27 May at 16.00 – 17.00 via zoom. Chair of the Dissertation committee Mia von Euler will talk about the requirements for defending a thesis at KI, how to prepare your application and how to find an appropriate Examination board and opponent.

Apply for access to the University Library's premises in Flemingsberg

The University Library (KIB) follows the recommendations from KI and the Public Health Agency to minimize social contact. The library is closed to the public and not staffed physically, but can be accessed by KI card (Flemingsberg). As a doctoral student or staff you need to apply for this access.

Increase your understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) with Sweden’s first basic course in the field. It’s online and for free.
The Elements of AI is a series of free online courses created by the company Reaktor and the University of Helsinki. The aim is to encourage as broad a group of people as possible to learn what AI is, what can (and can’t) be done with AI, and how to start creating AI methods. The courses combine theory with practical exercises and can be completed at your own pace. Each part will take approximately 5 – 10 hours to finish. Note that this course is not credit-bearing.

The Swedish Higher Education Authority postpones evaluations of KI’s doctoral education
|
The Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) evaluates doctoral education at all universities in Sweden in terms of how well they create the necessary conditions to ensure that all doctoral students are able to achieve the degree outcomes.
On May 8, UKÄ announced that the planned evaluations of doctoral education in physiology, surgery and dentistry are postponed for an indefinite future as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Doctoral education in the field of health care sciences will be evaluated in 2022.
