Några ord från Universitetsledningen
|

A WORD FROM THE UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
|
Thank you for all your hard work this year
A rather unusual academic year is coming to an end. The pandemic continues to affect us all, and still things are not back to normal at our university. We are proud of how all our staff, teachers and students never ceased finding creative ways and new solutions to their work this spring. We are particularly pleased with the strength of dedication that has been shown and with our continuing successes in research and education.
All that remains now is to thank each and every one of you for your hard work over this strange, but brilliantly accomplished year. We look forward to seeing you all again in August, when we can meet our students on campus again, revitalised and re-inspired, under better pandemic circumstances. Until then, we wish you all a pleasant and well-deserved break. Make sure to watch the President’s summer greeting.
You can now contribute to sustainable development
As a member of KI, you’re invited to take our online course that gives practical examples of how you can contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Why not take it this summer, and learn more about Agenda 2030 and the SDGs through activities, videos, quizzes and discussions?
A more flexible approach to work post-Covid
KI is currently realising a new post-Covid approach to work and collaboration. Experiences and current research on how work methods, leadership and work environment have been impacted by the pandemic and the lessons we have learned for the future were gathered during the spring. The resulting report shows that a more flexible approach has strong internal support. KI’s staff and managers concur that flexible working methods will make a positive contribution to the work environment, productivity and effectiveness.
Key issues to analyse further are how we can retain and bolster the interaction between the organisation’s individuals, units and offices when part of the work is being done digitally

and at a distance, and how the physical workplace is to be designed and optimised given the prevailing conditions and needs. After the summer, support and tips will be available showing the opportunities that exists and how we can think and learn from each other to realize more flexible working methods at KI. Feel free to start a dialogue and discuss what might be suitable for your operation post-Covid. Ultimately, it is the respective operations manager who decides on how flexible working methods should be adapted to each individual operation.

Recruit through the 2021–2022 KI–China Scholarship Council programme
|
Recruit doctoral students, postdoc researchers, visiting researchers and/or visiting doctoral students with scholarship from the China Scholarship Council. Register a research project description by 5 October – do not forget that a prospective principal supervisor must have a “green light” from their department to recruit a doctoral student. For the first time this year, KI supervisors/hosts may recruit only every other year and a maximum of two candidates may be recruited at one time, one doctoral student and one postdoc or visiting researcher.

New central support for registration and reporting of clinical research
|
Starting 2021, registration and reporting of clinical research in international clinical trial registries has been centralized at KI. The Compliance & Data Office (CDO) is responsible for the implementation of this newly formed research support initiative and has developed clear information, routines, and web support for KI researchers. The purpose is to ensure transparency and compliance with the regulations and requirements for registration and reporting results.
