Några ord från Universitetsledningen
|
Välkomsthälsning i rektors blogg.

USA).
Vid seminariet "Pandemier och hållbar hälsa – Health Equity and Pandemics – a Moonshot for Sustainable Health" den 6 oktober medverkar bland andra: Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, WHO, KI:s rektor Ole Petter Ottersen, Melinda French Gates, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ola Rosling, Gapminder Foundation och Mariana Mazzucato, University College London.

A WORD FROM THE UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
|
Welcome to the new academic year!
This week sees the start of a new academic year at KI and we are pleased to welcome all students and staff to a new term. We are especially happy to welcome our students back to campus from 30 August.
It goes without saying that the pandemic is still affecting us in various ways, so we need to show consideration for each other and to take collective responsibility to ensure a safe campus environment. Up until 30 September, all those who can work from home should still do so. KI follows the Swedish Public Health Agency’s general advice and we keep our own instructions and recommendations updated on the website on Information for staff and students regarding COVID-19.
We are looking forward more than anything else to having an exciting, enlightening and inspirational autumn together! A word of welcome from the President.
Flexible working
As the semester has started on our campuses and as employees can be on site, the opportunity for a more flexible way of working will be available. We are currently compiling common guidelines, experiences and inspiration on how a more flexible approach to work can be achieved across the university. The adoption of a flexible system is being introduced in dialogue and you are welcome to contact your immediate manager to find out how the plans will affect you and your colleagues more directly. More information will be posted on the Staff Portal and other channels on 13 September.

Supporting displaced Afghan researcher
Universities the world over are doing what they can to protect academic freedom given the situation in Afghanistan. As one of the world’s leading medical universities, KI intends to act upon its responsibility and take action against the silencing of scientists due to the risk of persecution and harassment. To this end, KI has teamed up with Scholars at Risk to start a collection to finance and receive an Afghan researcher able to work at KI for two years. You can read more about the collection and about how you can make a contribution on the Staff Portal.

New system makes it easier to find information about research at KI. A Research Information Management System (RIMS) simplifies management of research information and, through its coordinating function, also makes the information more transparent and easily accessible to both internal and external stakeholders. A procurement of a KI RIMS will start this autumn and all staff will be invited to an information and dialogue meeting. At the end of the year 2022, KI RIMS will be in operation.
New brand platform and guidelines on the KI brand. The brand guidelines are to be used as support when you have questions concerning the brand. For example, how names and logos may be used in different roles or collaborations with external parties. The guidelines are the basis for the digital brand platform at the staff portal.
