KI är medlem i NorDoc (Nordic Doctoral Training in Health Sciences consortium). Konsortiet har en gemensam kursdatabas med forskarutbildningskurser som erbjuds av de deltagande lärosätena. Doktorander vid KI kan delta i kurserna i databasen utan kostnad.

Skärpt passkontroll vid ansökan om uppehållstillstånd för doktorandstudier
|
Doktorander som ansöker om uppehållstillstånd för doktorandstudier för att få resa till Sverige kommer nu behöva visa upp sitt pass personligen hos en svensk ambassad eller ett generalkonsulat utomlands innan ett beslut om uppehållstillstånd kan fattas. Doktorander som ansöker om förlängt uppehållstillstånd med ett nytt pass, kan besöka Migrationsverkets servicecenter. De nya rutinerna börjar gälla den 1:a november och gäller även dem som redan har en öppen ansökan om uppehållstillstånd.

Doktorandnytt skickas ut ungefär tre gånger per termin från Fakultetskansliet på Karolinska Institutet.

Primary target groups for Doctoral student news are doctoral students as well as the departmental directors for doctoral studies and administrative officers for doctoral education. These groups receive the letter automatically. Other interested groups (for example doctoral supervisors) can subscribe to the newsletter at the staff portal.

|
KI is a member in the Nordic Doctoral Training in Health Sciences (NorDoc) consortium. The consortium has a joint course database with courses offered by the participating universities. Doctoral students at KI can participate in the courses in the database free of charge.

Introduction to doctoral education
|
All doctoral students have to participate in an introduction to doctoral education at KI within the first year after study start (and it is encouraged to do so as early as possible). The doctoral students have to register to the introduction themselves.

KI’s thematic doctoral programmes
|
KI offers a number of thematic doctoral education programmes comprising an overarching range of courses and learning activities in different research fields.
There are 11 different doctoral programs. Doctoral students can register for one or more doctoral programs to receive information about courses and activities, i.e. seminars, lectures and workshops, offered in a specific research field.

More rigorous passport control when applying for a residence permit for doctoral studies
|
Doctoral students who apply for a residence permit for doctoral studies to travel to Sweden will now have to show their passport in person at a Swedish embassy or consulate-general abroad before a decision on a residence permit can be made. Doctoral students applying for an extended residence permit with a new passport can visit the Migration Agency's service centre. The new rules come into effect on 1 November and apply to those who already have an ongoing application for a residence permit.
