Establishing the JPIAMR Virtual Research Institute

The JPIAMR is establishing a Virtual Research Institute on antimicrobial resistance (the JPIAMR-VRI). A virtual platform that will increase coordination, improve visibility of the AMR research networks, research performing institutes/centres and infrastructures, and facilitate knowledge exchange and capacity development across the globe, covering the full One Health spectrum.

The JPIAMR-VRI should be viewed as a Network of Networks, a knowledge hub, and a Global Platform with key principles that serve essential aspects to AMR Research stakeholders.

In order to share details about this endeavour, we have now published a JPIAMR-VRI section on the JPIAMR website. The JPIAMR-VRI web pages include information on the JPIAMR Key Principles, added value and benefits, and also present the first funded networks.

The first funded JPIAMR-VRI Networks

In 2018, JPIAMR funded eight Networks to develop activities to build the foundation of the JPIAMR-VRI. In early 2019, during a meeting in Amsterdam, the Networks gathered and initiated the work and the formation of the JPIAMR-VRI.

All networks now have individual web pages with a summary of the network, contact information and other resources.

Interviews with the JPIAMR-VRI Networks Coordinators

At the network start-up meeting in Amsterdam all network coordinators were asked to briefly summarise the aim of their network. A few of the filmed interviews are now published on the JPIAMR YouTube channel, and more will be uploaded soon.
