CLILMED - ett nytt projekt inom internationalisering av utbildning
|
|
IoC-teamet har anslutit sig till Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership CLILMED som ska arbeta för att ta fram verktyg för att undervisa effektivt på engelska, inom medicin, i ett multikulturellt och flerspråkigt klassrum. I mitten av januari tog KI emot deltagarna i projektet för två intensiva dagar med workshops och diskussioner. De hälsades välkomna av rektor Ole Petter Ottersen. Introduktionsdag om UHRs internationella program
|
|
Måndag den 10 februari 2020 organiserar Universitets- och Högskolerådet (UHR) en introduktionsdag. Dagen vänder sig till dig som är handläggare, administratör, studievägledare eller lärare, och som under det senaste året börjat arbeta med internationaliseringsfrågor på ett lärosäte. Anmäl dig här.

Svenska studenter mindre motiverade till utlandsstudier än sina nordiska grannar
|
|
Ekonomiska och sociala faktorer som statligt studiestöd och föräldrars utbildningsnivå påverkar om nordiska studenter väljer utlandsstudier. En jämförelse mellan de nordiska ländernas studentmobilitet visar att svenska studenter studerar och praktiserar utomlands i lägre grad än sina närmaste grannländer. Grants for Teaching Sabbaticals 2020 är nu öppet
|

Stiftelsen för internationalisering av högre utbildning och forskning (STINT) vill bidra till förnyelse i undervisningen och nya nätverk genom att ge svenska forskare och lärare internationella erfarenheter. Sökande är själv ansvarig för att hitta lämplig värd vid utländskt lärosäte utanför EU/EFTA. Deadline är 18 mars. Läs mer om kriterierna och hur du söker på STINT:s webb.

Nya regler om uppehållstillstånd för forskning och studier
|
|
Genom lagändringarna som trädde i kraft 1 januari 2020 inför Sverige nu EU:s student- och forskardirektiv. Ett viktigt syfte med regeländringarna är att locka fler studenter, forskare och andra högkvalificerade personer till Sverige och underlätta för dem som har utbildats här i landet att stanna kvar och arbeta. Dags att minska internationell utbildnings klimatpåverkan
|
|
Klimatfrågan har i stor utsträckning ignorerats i arbetet med att internationalisera högre utbildning, men under det senaste decenniet har internationella akademiker uttryckt en växande oro. Hans de Wit och Philip G Altbach menar att klimatfrågan kan bli ett centralt tema för internationalisering av högre utbildning under de kommande åren. Läs artikeln i University World News.

Sweden’s medical faculties have set up a joint prize for the internationalisation of first and second-cycle education.The prize is awarded to the teacher/teaching team that has made a significant contribution to raising the level of internationalisation in higher education over the past three years. CLILMED - a new project in the internationalisation of education
|
|
The IoC-team has joined the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership CLILMED – Reaching for Tools to Teach Effectively in English in a Multicultural and Multilingual Learning Space. Recently KI hosted a meeting for the participants and they were welcomed by the President of Karolinska Institutet Ole Petter Ottersen. Read more in Updates from the IoC-team.

Introduction day on the international programmes coordinated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education's (UHR)

10 February 2020, UHR will organize an introduction day (in Swedish). UHR has designed the day for you who are administrator, study counsellor or teacher, and have recently started working with internationalisation in a higher education institution. Sign up here.

Swedish students less motivated to study abroad than their Nordic neighbors
|
|
Economic and social factors such as financial support and parents' educational level affect whether Nordic students choose to study abroad or not. A comparative study on mobility habits among the Nordic students shows that Swedish students study and do internships abroad to a lesser extent than their closest neighbors. New rules on residence permits for research and studies
|
|
The changes in law which entered into force 1 January 2020 will implement the European Union’s ‘Students and Researchers Directive’. An important aim is to attract more students, researchers and other highly qualified people to Sweden, and to make it easier for those who have studied in Sweden to stay in the country for work. Open call - Grants for Teaching Sabbaticals 2020
|
|
The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) wants to contribute to educational renewal and the creation of new networks by giving Swedish researchers and university lecturers, who are passionate about education, relevant international experiences. Applicants are responsible for finding an appropriate host at a higher education institution outside the EU/EFTA. Deadline is 18 March. Read more about criteria and how to apply on STINT's webpage.

Time to cut international education’s carbon footprint

Sustainability and the climate crisis have largely been ignored by international education, but at the turn of the decade, international educators are expressing growing concern about this issue.
