Decolonizing Global Health Research and Education - 7 december

Det första GlobeLife-seminariet kommer att diskutera hur man kan lyfta och driva agendan för avkolonisering av forskning och utbildning inom global hälsa inom våra institutioner och i samhället i stort. Seminariet kommer att utforska ämnet tillsammans med två inbjudna huvudtalare och en panel. Seminariet hålls på Zoom den 7 december kl.14-16.

Föreläsning om rasism i vården

KI och Studenter för en rättvis vård och akademi (Sträva) vid Medicinska Föreningen har bjudit in Tobias Hübinette, docent i interkulturell pedagogik och Nyamusi Nyambok från Afrosvenskarnas riksorganisation (ASR) för att fördjupa oss i rasismens mekanismer samt negativa effekter på människors hälsa. Föreläsningen den 30 nov kl.17-20 riktar sig både till studenter och anställda. Eventet kommer att livestreamas här, samt via Facebook.

Kommande utlysning: kapacitetshöjande utbildningsprogram med fokus på Agenda 2030

Svenska institutet kommer i december 2020 utlysa möjligheten för svenska lärosäten att söka finansiellt stöd för anordnande av kapacitetshöjande utbildningsprogram med fokus på Agenda 2030. Stödet avser utbildningar som riktar sig till tjänstemän och förtroendevalda i offentlig sektor från låg- eller medelinkomstländer. Ett lärosäte kan skicka in flera ansökningar.Karolinska Institutet fick i juni 2020 beviljade medel för två program. Detaljerad information om denna ansökningsomgång har ännu inte publicerats men kommer troligen bli snarlikt förra omgången. Välkommen till ett webbinarium om akademisk yttrandefrihet och Scholars at Risk

Det internationella nätverket Scholars at Risk arbetar för att värna akademisk frihet och ge skydd åt riskutsatta forskare. I den svenska sektionen ingår 21 lärosäten varav 7 i Stockholm – Försvarshögskolan, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm, Karolinska Institutet, Konstfack, KTH, Stockholms universitet och Södertörns högskola. The President of KI spoke at the Internationalisation Forum

The Internationalisation Forum is a new forum under the Committee for Higher Education that Jonas Sundbäck and Lars Henningsohn, assigned as responsible for internationalisation by the committee, would like to develop. The first forum was held on 16 November and the President was invited. The President spoke about the international aspects of Strategy 2030 and emphasized, among other things, the importance of integrating the sustainable development goals, KI's role on the European arena and that we must nurture our alumni relations. The programme also includedthe Mobility Project, European University NeurotechEU and some upcoming news in Erasmus +. Participants also discussed opportunities and challenges with internationalisation in education. Feel free to respond to our evaluation from the meeting and feel free to contribute with thoughts on how the forum can be developed.

Decolonizing Global Health Research and Education - 7 December

The first ever GlobeLife seminar will continue the conversation, with a focus on how to move the agenda of decolonizing global health research and education forward within our institutions and beyond. The seminar will explore the topic together with two invited keynote speakers and a group of panelists. The seminar will be held on Zoom 7 December 2-4 pm.

Lecture on racism in health care

KI and "Studenter för en rättvis vård och akademi " (Sträva) at the Medical Students' Union (MF) have invited Tobias Hübinette, associate professor in intercultural pedagogy and Nyamusi Nyambok from the Afro-Swedish National Organization (ASR) to delve into the mechanisms of racism and negative effects on human health. The lecture on 30 November at 5-8 pm is aimed at both students and employees and will be held party in Swedish partly in English. The event will be livestreamed on ki.se and via Facebook.

Coming call: capacity-building training programmes focusing on the Agenda 2030

The Swedish Institute will in December 2020 advertise the opportunity for Swedish higher education institutions to apply for financial support to implement capacity-building training programmes supporting the implementation of the Agenda 2030. The target groups for these programmes are civil servants and elected representatives in the public sector in low and middle income countries. A higher education institution can submit several applications. Karolinska Institutet was in June 2020 awarded funding for two programmes. Detailed information about this application round has not yet been published but it is likely to be similar to the last round. If you are interested in preparing an application or would like to have more information, contact Ylva Olssonat Executive and Professional Education at KI.

Welcome to a webinar on academic freedom and Scholars at Risk

The international network Scholars at Risk works to safeguard academic freedom and provide protection for at-risk researchers. The Swedish section includes 21 higher education institutions, of which 7 are in Stockholm - the Swedish Defense University, Stockholm School of Economics, Karolinska Institutet, Konstfack, KTH, Stockholm University and Södertörn University.
