"Participation in the IoC project has been essential in our work to internationalise the new curriculum. It has provided us with a clearer understanding of what internationalisation can entail, and the range of aspects that it could encompass. It has widened our horizons and promoted our thinking across a whole spectrum of approaches. We have developed from an extremely restricted starting point of merely discussing teaching in English to the point where a whole range of aspects are routinely discussed by our teachers, not least with respect to Agenda 2030." Verktyg för att integrera internationalisering

|
Ett fyraårigt projekt med fokus på internationalisering inom utbildningen vid KI har precis avslutats. Projekts resultat och verktyg är nu tillgängliga och projektgruppen hoppas dessa ska inspirera andra att inleda liknande processer vid sina egna lärosäten. Under 2017-2020 utvecklade enheten för undervisning och lärande (UoL) tillsammans med fem utbildningsprogram verktyg, resurser och exempel för internationalisering av utbildning (Internationalisation of the Curriculum IoC). Begreppet "curriculum" har varit centralt i projektet och omfattar studentens resa genom hela utbildningen, inte bara läroplanen. Ta del av projektet på KI:s webb.

|
Mobilitetsprojekt visar på goda exempel
|
|
Under 2020 har ett projekt genomförts på uppdrag av arbetsgruppen för internationalisering (KU) för att få en mer heltäckande bild av internationell mobilitet på KI. Projektet har nu resulterat i en rapport med förslag på åtgärder för att bättre kunna följa upp men också premiera den internationalisering som idag inte registreras. Rapporten innehåller också flera goda exempel där utbildningsprogrammen kan inspireras av varandra. Läs mer om rapporten.

KI startar två nya globala masterprogram
|
|
Höstterminen 2022 erbjuder KI två nya globala masterprogram. Det ettåriga magisterprogrammet i nutritionsvetenskap ersätts av ett tvåårigt masterprogram och ett helt nytt tvåårigt masterprogram i translationell fysiologi och farmakologi kommer att startas. Beslut om de nya programmen fattades i fakultetsnämnden i februari 2021. För de kommande programmens del inleds nu ett intensivt arbete med utbildningens innehåll.

Förlängda och inställda programomgångar inom Linnaeus-Palme (LP)
|
|
I och med att coronapandemin i hög grad har försvårat genomförandet av aktiviteter i pågående LP-projekt har Universitets- och högskolerådet (UHR) beslutat att förlänga samtliga programomgångar från 2019 och 2020. Mer information om exakta datum och slutrapportering finns på UHR:s hemsida. De förlängda programomgångar, pandemin och lågt intresse har även lett till att UHR har beslutat att ställa in följande ansökningsomgångar: Linnaeus-Palme planering 2020 samt Linnaeus-Palme partnerskap 2021. KI och Makerere University etablerar kompetenscentrum för hållbar hälsa
|
|
Karolinska Institutet och Makerere University har ingått ett avtal om att etablera Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Health (CESH), ett kompetenscentrum för att främja partnerskap och utveckla kapacitet, resurser och verktyg för forskare och beslutsfattare i hela världen. Avtalet är nästa steg i ett fördjupat samarbete mellan lärosätena. Sedan långt tillbaka finns samarbeten med Makerere University inom utbildning och flera utbildningsprogram har och har haft utbytesavtal. Läs mer om det nya CESH- avtalet.

Tools to integrate internationalisation
|
|
A four-year project focusing on internationalisation of the curriculum (IoC) at KI has just been completed. Project results and tools are now available, and the project group hopes these will inspire others to initiate similar processes at their own institutions. From 2017-2020, KI's Unit for teaching and learning (UoL) together with five study programmes have developed tools, resources and examples for internationalisation of education.. The concept of "curriculum" has been central to the project and includes the student's journey through the entire education, not just the formal curriculum.You will find the tools and the results on KI's website.

Mobility project highlights best practises
|
|
In 2020 a project to get a more comprehensive picture of international mobility at KI has been carried out on behalf of the working group for internationalisation (KU). The project has now resulted in a repor proposing measures to better follow up, but also to reward and highlight the internationalisation that is currently not formally registered. The report also contains several good examples where our study programmes can be inspired by each other. Read more about the report (in Swedish).

KI is launching two new global master's programmes
|
|
In the autumn 2022 intake, KI will offer two new global master’s programmes. The one-year master's programme in nutrition science will be replaced by a two-year master's program and a brand new two-year master's program in translational physiology and pharmacology will also start. A decision on the new study programmes was taken at the Faculty Board Meeting in February 2021. Intensive work on the content of the education has now started.

Extended and canceled programme rounds within Linnaeus-Palme (LP)
|
|
As the corona pandemic has greatly hindered the implementation of activities in ongoing LP projects, the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) has decided to extend all project rounds from 2019 and 2020. More information on exact dates and final reporting is available on the UHR website. The extended rounds of programmes, the pandemic and low interest to apply for new funding have also led to UHR deciding to cancel the following calls: Linnaeus-Palme planning 2020 and Linnaeus-Palme Partnership 2021. More information about the extensions and the cancelled calls can be found on the UHR website (in Swedish) and feel free to contact Pernilla Witte, central coordinator for LP programme at KI.

KI and Makerere University establish a centre for sustainable health
|
|
KI and Makerere University have signed an agreement to establish the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Health (CESH), a centre to promote partnerships and develop capacity, resources and tools for researchers and policy makers globally. The agreement is the next step in the deepening of the collaboration between the institutions. For a long time there have been educational collaborations with Makerere University and several study programmes have and have had exchange agreements. Read more about the new CESH agreement.
