KI-student Enoch Yi-Tung Chen tilldelas Föreningen för Medicinsk Statistiks Uppsatspris 2021

Enoch Yi-Tung Chen, masterstudent i folhälsovetenskap, har tilldelats uppsatspriset för bästa studentprojekt inom medicinsk statistik under 2020 av Föreningen för Medicinsk Statistik (FMS). Konsekvenser av coronapandemin på högskolan så här långt

Nu presenterar Universitetskanslersämbetet (UKÄ) sin första delrapport om coronapandemins konsekvenser på högskolan. Coronapandemin har inneburit och fortsätter att innebära stora utmaningar för högskolans olika verksamheter. Förändringar i mobiliteten till och från lärosätena, särskilt den internationella, kommer säkerligen fortsätta att göra stora avtryck i högskolans olika verksamheter. Förlängning av generellt inreseförbud med testkrav från alla länder och särskilda inreserestriktioner från Danmark och Norge upphör

Regeringen har fattat beslut om en förlängning av det generella inreseförbudet och att kravet på uppvisande av negativt covid-19-test kvarstår vid inresa från alla länder. Inreseförbuden förlängs till och med den 31 maj. Samtidigt upphävs de särskilda inreserestriktionerna vid resa från Danmark och Norge. Samtliga ändringar börjar gälla den 31 mars. Nya programguiden för Erasmus+ 2021-2027

Samordning ska ske av insatser för internationalisering

UHR ska tillsammans med Vetenskapsrådet och Vinnova vidareutveckla förslaget om en plattform för internationalisering som Internationaliseringsutredningen lämnade i betänkandet Ökad attraktionskraft för kunskapsnationen Sverige (SOU 2018:78). Syftet är att möjliggöra en stabil och långsiktig struktur för samordning av frågor som påverkar internationalisering inom högre utbildning, forskning och innovation. KI student Enoch Yi-Tung Chen awarded prize for best student paper in medical statistics

Public health master student Enoch Yi-Tung Chen has been awarded the Swedish Society for Medical Statistics (Föreningen för Medicinsk Statistik, FMS) prize for best student project in the field of medical statistics during 2020. The prize, which includes an award of 5000 SEK, was announced at the FMS annual general meeting on 25 March 2021. Read more on news.ki.se.

Consequences for Swedish higher education caused by the pandemic

The Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) is now presenting its first interim report on the consequences of the pandemic for the higher education sector. The pandemic has entailed and continues to pose major challenges for the universites' various activities. International mobility will certainly be affected. Extension of general entry ban and testing requirement for travel from all countries, and lifting of separate entry restrictions for travel from Denmark and Norway

The Government has decided to extend the general entry ban to Sweden, and that the requirement of a negative COVID-19 test will remain in effect for entry from all countries. The entry ban has been extended until 31 May. At the same time, the separate entry restrictions on travel from Denmark and Norway will be lifted. The amendments apply from 31 March. A platform for coordination of internationalisation

The Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) will, together with the Swedish Research Council and Vinnova, further develop the proposal for a platform for internationalisation that the Inquiry on increased internationalisation of higher education institutions submitted in the report Increasing the Attractiveness of Sweden as a Knowledge Nation (SOU 2018: 78). The aim is to enable a stable and long-term structure for the coordination of issues that affect internationalisation in higher education, research and innovation. The assignment must be reported no later than October 15, 2021. Read more (in Swedish) at UHR's website.

Most students say their mental health suffered in pandemic

On average, 56% of university students worldwide stated that their mental health suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. In Brazil, the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom, the proportion was over 70%. The questionnaire was answered by over 17,000 students in 21 countries. Read more in University World News.
