NeurotechEU-partner besökte KI
|

En delegation från vår NeurotechEU-partner Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy i Cluj Rumänien (UMF Cluj) besökte nyligen KI för att diskutera NeurotechEU:s framtid och andra möjliga samarbeten. Delegationen hade uttryckligen bett att få träffa representanter med ansvar för svenska register och EDI-arbetet (Equality Inclusion and Diversity) vid KI. Årets Rosling-seminarium lyfte klimatets påverkan på global hälsa
|
|
Vår planet, vår hälsa – en dialog mellan generationerna, det var rubriken på årets Rosling-seminarium vid Karolinska Institutet. Det ägde rum den 5 oktober i ett samarrangemang med WHO och deltagarna fanns med både på plats och online.

Utlysning: Nicholson Short term exchange för bland annat lärare och personal

Nu finns möjlighet att söka medel för Short term exchange vid The Rockefeller University (USA). Deadline för ansökan är 18 November, 2022. Behöriga sökanden inkluderar forskare, lärare, postdocs, doktorander, masterstudenter och teknisk/administrativ personal.

Välbesökt hearing om plattform för internationalisering
|
|
Plint, Plattform för internationalisering, genomförde den 19 oktober en hearing för att få inspel på frågor som ska prioriteras för att skapa bättre förutsättningar för internationalisering inom högre utbildning, forskning och innovation. Utbytesstudenterna har återvänt till svenska lärosäten
|
|
Ny officiell statistik visar att under läsåret 2021/2022 var antalet utländska studenter vid svenska högskolor och universitet tillbaka på samma nivåer som före pandemin. Det var framför allt utbytesstudenterna som inte kom under pandemin. Men läsåret 2021/2022 återvände de. Läs mer påuka.se.

Både skillnader och likheter mellan nordiska Erasmusstudenter
|
|
I 35 år har EU:s program Erasmus+ underlättat studentutbyten mellan universitet och högskolor i och utanför Europa. För att få en bild av skillnaderna och likheterna mellan studenter från de nordiska länderna som deltagit i dessa utbyten har Forum för studier av den högre utbildningens internationalisering (SIHE) vid Uppsala universitet analyserat enkätsvar från nästan 95 procent av de nordiska Erasmusstudenter som deltog i utbyten genom Erasmus+ 2016–2017. KI och andra universitet i Europa tappar positioner i ny rankning från Times Higher Education (THE)
|
|
KI är alltjämt Nordens högst rankade universitet men tappar tio placeringar globalt från plats 39 till 49 i årets rankning i THE:s övergripande rankning med samtliga ämnesområden. Flera andra universitet inom EU tappar också positioner medan Asien och främst Kina avancerar. Storbritannien samt USA ligger relativt stabila. Universitet med teknisk profil har också klarat sig bättre än genomsnittet. Läs mer på ki.se.

EUA kartlägger utmaningarna i Europauniversiteten
|
|
I samband med slutfasen av den första 3-årspiloten av Europauniversiteten har European University Association (EUA) sammanställt insatser, hinder och utmaningar som publicerats i "The European Universities Initiative and system level reforms”. De 30 lärsoäten som ingår i pioten anger att utmaningarna huvudsakligen finns på nationell nivå eller systemnivå. De behöver lösas snarast eftersom initiativet ska expandera. Nytt toolkit för lärare och handledare – Lika villkor i undervisningen
|
|
Ett nytt toolkit som syftar till att ge stöd för integreringen av lika villkori finns nu tillgängligt via Canvas. Toolkitet består av filmer, texter, diskussionsforum och övningar. Materialet är för närvarande tillgängligt på svenska med länkar till flera resurser på både svenska och engelska. Hela toolkitet kommer även att översättas till engelska längre fram. Materialet är framtaget av KI:s samordnare för lika villkor tillsammans med UoL. Läs mer: Lika villkor i undervisningen - ett toolkit.

Välkommen på europeisk vägledarkonferens den 30 november
|
|
I år fyller Euroguidance nätverket 30 år. För att fira bjuder de in till en kostnadsfri konferens för vägledare, beslutsfattare, utbildare m fl inom vägledningsområdet i Europa. Under rubriken Meeting the future today: Capacity building for the European guidance community, är man välkommen att delta på plats i Prag eller digitalt, den 30 november 2022. Registrera dig senast 4 november.

NeurotechEU-partner visited KI
|
|
A delegation from our NeurotechEU partner Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj Romania (UMF Cluj) recently visited KI to discuss the future of NeurotechEU and other possible collaborations. The delegation had expressly asked to meet representatives from Swedish registers and the EDI work (Equality Inclusion and Diversity) at KI. This year's Rosling Seminar highlights the impact of climate on global health
|
|
“Our planet, our health – an intergenerational dialogue” – the title of this year’s Rosling Seminar at Karolinska Institutet. The seminar, held on 5 October, was jointly arranged by KI and the WHO with participants attending on site and online.

Call: Nicholson Short term exchange for teachers and administrative staff
|
|
It is now possible to apply for funds for Short term exchange at The Rockefeller University (USA). Application deadline 18 November, 2022. Eligible applicants include researchers, teachers, postdocs, PhD students, master's students and technical/administrative staff.

Well attended hearing for platform for internationalisation
|
|
Plint, Platform for internationalisation, held a hearing on 19 October to get input on action points that should be prioritized in order to create better conditions for internationalisation in higher education, research and innovation. The exchange students have returned to Swedish higher education institutions
|
|
New official statistics show that the number of foreign students at Swedish higher education institutions during the academic year 2021/2022 was back on the same level as before the pandemic. It was mainly the exchange students who did not come during the pandemic, but in 2021/22 they returned. Read more (in Swedish) at uka.se.

Differences and similarities among Nordic Erasmus students
|
|
For 35 years, the Erasmus+ programme has facilitated student exchanges between higher education institutions in and outside Europe. To get a picture of the differences and similarities between students from the Nordic countries who participated in these exchanges, the Forum for Studies of Internationalisation in Higher Education (SIHE) at Uppsala University analyzed responses from almost 95 percent of the Nordic Erasmus students who participated in the exchanges through Erasmus+ 2016–2017. KI and other European universities drop in the Times Higher Education rankings
|
|
KI is still the Nordic Region’s highest ranking university, but has dropped ten places from 39 to 49 in this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) overall rankings over all subject fields. Other EU universities have also dropped, while those in Asia, especially China, have advanced. The UK and USA remain relatively stable. Universities with a technological profile have also fared better than the average. Read more on ki.se.

EUA maps European Universities Initiative challenges
|
|
As the pilot phase of the European Universities Intiative comes to an end, the European University Association (EUA) has taken stock of efforts, obstacles and challenges published in "The European Universities Initiative and system level reforms". The challenges are mainly at national level or system level within the 30 higher education institutions that are participating in the first pilot, and they need to be resolved urgently as the initiative is to expand. New toolkit for teachers and supervisors - Equal opportunities in teaching
|
|
A new toolkit aimed at supporting the integration of equal opportunities is now available via Canvas. The toolkit consists of videos, texts, discussion forums and exercises. The material is currently available in Swedish with links to several resources in both Swedish and English. In the future the entire toolkit will also be translated into English. Welcome to the European guidance conference on 30 November
|
|
This year the Euroguidance network celebrates 30 years. To celebrate, the invite to a conference (free of charge) for guidance counselors, decision makers, trainers, etc. in the field of guidance in Europe. Under the device "Meeting the future today: Capacity building for the European guidance community", they welcome participants on site in Prague or digitally, on 30 November , 2022. Register by 4 November at the latest.
