A few words from the Head of Department

Dear LIME colleagues,

The LIME Days were fantastic! First, I would like to convey a special thank you to Therese Wahlström and Charlotte “Rossi” Rossland for all the professional programme design, planning and preparations. This is one main explanation for the very positive feed-back that has come in.

Second, I would like to thank all that took part for all the engagement, fun activities, good food, conversations and laughter! The mix (by design as indicated above) was perfect of “unconference/open space” joint decision making, intense discussions on important LIME topics and ample space to get to know each other better. I believe that the retreat strongly supported the goals of improving people’s knowledge about each other and building trust as well as enhancing the likelihood for future collaborations. A special thanks to all that lead sessions, work-shops, musical quiz, and various forms of physical activity regardless if they were indoors, on the lawn or in the water.

The 15 thematic sessions were highly productive with numerous important observations and ideas. We now work on the process to take care of the ideas and put them to use. All the posters that were created can be found at the LIME entrance (towards Solnavägen) – please walk by in the “Art gallery”. The next step is for the “Theme hosts” to look through and possibly clarify which the conclusions and next steps/actions could be. The final outcomes might include lunch dancing with Per, Fika for funding or Qualification portfolio feed-back sessions.

Already today we can realize some of the suggestions, such as ”Take a walk around all over LIME’s premises and say HELLO”. And, naturally, we will follow up with a further developed LIME DAYS retreat next spring.

This year’s Employee survey (Medarbetarundersökning) ended with 73 % response rate – we thus reached the level required for a meaningful basis for analysis and the work forward. We will analyze and present the findings over the coming months and continue the dialogue to further improve the work environment at LIME.

Finally, I wish to thank Therese Wahlström for her enormous contributions to LIME over many years. Her always creative, deeply committed and highly capable way of working has markedly made LIME a much better place. Not least Therese has made me a much better head of department! I will deeply miss our fabulous collaboration, and I am certain that everyone at the whole department agrees with me.

I look forward to meeting many of you at the next LIME breakfast May 25.

Yours, Carl Johan

Carl Johan Sundberg
Head of the Department

HUMAN RESOURCES

Employee survey

The employee survey 2022 is now at its end and LIME ended up with a response rate of 73%!

We did not reach our goal of 85% but it is over 70% which is good and we have gathered enough answers to get a result. The result will be presented in the coming weeks, and we can already see that LIME in general scored a higher result in almost every part of the survey compared to the survey used in 2017!

The project group for the employee survey want to thank all of you who took time to answer the survey and look forward to working with the department going forward with the results!

As promised the groups that have reached 100% in response rate will receive a prize!

Procedure for sick leave

Changes in the procedure for sick leave: from May 1st employees register their sick leave in the PA-web themselves. This was earlier done by HR. Read more at Medarbetarportalen

NASP, National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention

The WHO publication ”Preventing Suicide: A Resource for Media Professionals” from 2017 has been translated and adapted for Sweden by NASP. The resource is targeted towards journalists and other media professionals and contains recommendations on how to report on suicide.

This was performed by NASP within its role as a WHO Collaborating centre for Suicide Prevention. It falls within the WHO worldwide initiative for preventing suicide which entails the development of resources and recommendations for different professions, which are particularly relevant to the suicide preventive work. Journalists and other media professionals are such a group since research shows that inaccurate and sensationalized reporting of suicide in media can lead to further suicidal behavior (suicide and suicide attempt). On the other hand, responsible and balanced reporting can enlighten the public about the problems surrounding suicide and promote the suicide preventive work.
