Welcome back after the summer break!

Highlights from the European Respiratory Society 2020

This years virtual ERS event has just finished, although it is still possible to access much of the pre-recorded content. If you registered you can access material until 30th December 2020. A selection of highlights from KI scientists of particular relevance to allergic airway disease are described below.

Cecilia Lundholm and Björn Lundberg revealed how early-life exposures to inhaled allergens or air pollution can affect later lung function.

Descriptions of biomarker patterns associated with asthma phenotypes were provided by Maria Mikus, Lars Andersson, Valentyna Yasinska and Anna James.

Novel insights into mechanisms of allergic asthma using experimental models were provided by Jielu Liu and Jesper Säfholm.

A detailed overview of the involvement and importance of upper airways in lower airway disease was given by Apostolos Bossios.
