Stand up together for democracy

The 15th of September marks the Day of Democracy. An important day to raise awareness of.
Democracy is backsliding and the civic space is shrinking. Distrust and disinformation are growing and the polarization is undermining our democratic institutions.

We have to stand up for the democratic principles such as equity, inclusion, transparency, accountability and solidarity. On this day, and every other day, let us stand up together for democracy, freedom and human rights for everybody, everywhere.

Johan Lilja, Secretary General ICLD
