Take a peek at the FM workshop in Biomedicum

Meet Andreas Adolfsson, Operations technician at the Facility Management (FM) who is operating and working in the FM workshop (FM verkstad), located on floor 2, room A0262 in Biomedicum.

MEET OUR NEW COWORKER

Welcome to Jennie Eldh Bastman, the new Laboratory Safety Coordinator at FM

Jennie, could you tell us about your role?

"My role includes acting as an advisor and coordinating work environment related matters. My main areas of responsibility are environment/sustainability, laboratory and fire safety, which means that I am the environmental representative and fire safety supervisor in Biomedicum. In addition, I will work with all types of issues related to laboratory safety, providing advice and coordinating ongoing projects, handling of laboratory waste, as well as administration in the KLARA system. Much of my work involves working in a preventive manner, to maintain a good standard of the occupational safety in Biomedicum."

When should we contact you?

"You can contact me in any errands related to laboratory or fire safety, working environment and sustainability. I am also the contact person in Biomedicum for questions or reports on deviations in the cleaning."

Are there any challenges?

"There is always room for improvement within an organisation. To solve challgenges is part of the the development work.

The challenges I have encountered within Biomedicum, when it comes to work environment-related issues, are mainly the large turnover of people, and getting a large organisation to maintain the same routine and work culture, regardless of the group and unit you belong to.

What are you mostly looking forward to?

"I am looking forward to the change management work, contributing to the improvements that strengthen the occupational safety culture within Biomedicum", says Jennie Eldh Bastman.
